Terran Williams
Terran Williams is a pastor, author, church planter, and avid surfer from Cape Town, South Africa. He and his wife, Julie, are raising five children. Having planted and led several churches, Terran founded Nova Church and launched A2, a global family of Acts 2-inspired churches, in 2026. He is currently completing his PhD at Trinity Bible College in North Dakota, where his doctoral research focuses on Priscilla and Aquila.
Earlier in his ministry, Terran served as a leading Bible teacher at a large church known for its strong commitment to doctrinal precision. When he was asked to help research and strengthen the church's complementarian position, his careful study led him to an unexpected conclusion. That journey resulted in How God Sees Women: The End of Patriarchy, a comprehensive yet accessible exploration of the biblical evidence, which reached Amazon bestseller status in the Christian Anthropology category.
Andrew Bartlett
Andrew Bartlett KC began to follow Jesus as a teenager in the 1960s. After studying law at Oxford, he became a barrister. He has served as a Judge in the UK and now practices as an international arbitrator, deciding multinational commercial disputes in various countries around the world. He also has a BA in Theology (University of Gloucestershire; first class honours and Bible Society prize). Andrew has served in several churches as elder or churchwarden and is actively involved in ministry to international students. He and his wife celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary a little while ago and they rejoice in God’s gift of three children and five grandchildren.
In Men and Women in Christ: Fresh Light from the Biblical Texts (IVP Books, 2019), he engages with advocates from each side of the complementarian-egalitarian divide. He weighs each view and the key biblical texts, examining the available evidence and offering fresh insights. He invites the reader to move beyond complementarian and egalitarian labels and towards healing the division.
His purpose in True Complementarity: Men and Women in Christ (Apollos, 2026) is to build greater confidence in distinguishing between commands of God and traditions of men. This is a longer book, containing a deeper dive and a wider survey. He listens to a much wider range of voices, both historical and contemporary, and
addresses many aspects of the debate in more detail than in his 2019 book.
